Wayne Rooney will surprise all Liverpool fans with what he’s had to say about one player
Liverpool are set to begin the defence of the Premier League title on Friday against Bournemouth.
Mohamed Salah will be licking his lips, with the Egyptian having an opportunity to extend one of his Premier League records if he gets his name on the scoresheet.
Despite Arne Slot’s side suffering a disappointing defeat in the Community Shield to Crystal Palace, they are most pundits’ and supporters’ pick to win the league.
Former Manchester United and Everton player Wayne Rooney has now had his say on the Reds before they kick off their new campaign.

Rooney expecting a lot from Rio Ngumoha at Liverpool
Given Liverpool’s impressive transfer business so far, it is no wonder they are the favourites to retain their crown.
If FSG listen to Virgil van Dijk’s plea and go and sign Alexander Isak, then the Reds will be an even more unstoppable force next season.
On Wednesday’s episode of Match of the Day, Rooney unsurprisingly picked Liverpool to win the Premier League.
The former England international also tipped Salah to win the Golden Boot as well as Rio Ngumoha to be the breakout star of the season.
The 16-year-old has shone throughout pre-season, and given Luis Diaz’s recent departure to Bayern Munich, the teenager could be in line for some first-team minutes next season.
- Ngumoha scored two goals and registered two assists in four pre-season appearances
Rooney knows a thing or two about tearing up the Premier League as a teenager, and Liverpool supporters will be hoping the Evertonian is correct in his assessment of their youngster.
However, it will still comes as a surprise to many to see Rooney big up a Liverpool talent.
Another forward still needed this summer
Everyone is aware of the Reds’ interest in Isak, but if Liverpool cannot bring the Swedish international to Anfield, another forward must be brought in in his place.
With Darwin Nunez swapping Merseyside for Saudi Arabia, Slot’s options in the final third are quite thin, especially if there are any injuries.
Whilst Ngumoha was phenomenal, Slot will not want to have to heavily rely on a teenager in a title race and place too much pressure on his young shoulders.
