Carragher brilliantly shuts down Everton player over Liverpool footage

Liverpool have enjoyed yet another season in their illustrious history, winning their second Premier League title in five years.

But one of the most enjoyable nights of the season for the Anfield faithful arrived when they beat Everton 1-0 in the Merseyside Derby on 2 April.

Liverpool’s victory over the Toffees last month came after a dramatic 2-2 draw between the two sides at Goodison Park on 12 February.

But Arne Slot did not have to wait long for his first Merseyside Derby triumph, as Diogo Jota’s goal secured a win over the Blues at Anfield less than two months later.

Carragher takes aim at James Tarkowski over Merseyside Derby flashpoint

Everton defender James Tarkowski stunned Liverpool with a late equaliser in February’s Merseyside Derby via an impressive volley.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football [5 May], the 32-year-old said: “I don’t score many, so to score one like this, on this occasion, in this moment. It feels like more than we only got one point that night.”

Reds legend Jamie Carragher joked: “It was a 2-2 win, wasn’t it?”

Liverpool’s win over Tottenham secured their Premier League title

Slot has enjoyed a fantastic start to his Liverpool tenure, but the Anfield outfit will be hungry to fight for more silverware next season.

Slot’s men were gutted to lose the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle in March, while the manner of their Champions League exit was a tough one to take as they were beaten on penalties by PSG.

After winning the Premier League title once again, the Reds should now be keen to claim glory in other competitions next season, especially the Champions League.

Slot has an important summer transfer window ahead of him, especially now that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit has been confirmed ahead of a likely move to Real Madrid.

Liverpool are also in the market for a new left-back, having been consistently linked to both Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Fulham man Antonee Robinson.
