Liverpool’s Champions League chances updated in new supercomputer prediction
Liverpool resume their Champions League exploits on Wednesday as they face Paris Saint-Germain, with a supercomputer predicting how likely they are to go all the way.
Having finished top of the competition’s new league phase in January, Liverpool received one of the hardest draws possible for the last 16 despite being seeded.
Arne Slot‘s side will be confident regardless, given the fact that they have only lost one match in the tournament so far, the dead-rubber against PSV on the last matchday.
With the second leg at Anfield on 11 March, the L4 outfit could ensure progression with a positive result in the French capital (5 March) and will be dreaming of another European success.

Liverpool Champions League prediction made
Liverpool are the favourites to win the competition despite drawing Ligue 1 heavyweights PSG in their first knockout stage clash after a new prediction emerged.
According to the Opta Analyst supercomputer, Slot’s side have a 30.9 per cent chance to reach the final in Munich on 31 May.
The Merseysiders have a 19.2 per cent chance to win the tournament for a seventh time, above the likes of Barcelona (14.8 per cent), Inter (14 per cent), Arsenal (11.6 per cent) and Real Madrid (9.8 per cent).

Slot will not take Champions League lightly
With Liverpool leading the way in the Premier League, European football could be viewed as a distraction, but Slot is unlikely to see it that way.
He will want to win as much as he can in his maiden season in English football and if he could win both the domestic league and Europe’s premier competition, it may be the best first campaign ever.
Team | Likelihood of winning CL |
Liverpool | 19.2 % |
Barcelona | 14.8% |
Inter | 14% |
Arsenal | 11.6% |
Real Madrid | 9.8% |
He will also not take the tournament lightly. He will know that his side needs to be in top form to win it, despite the favourable odds.
With Mohamed Salah pushing for the Ballon d’Or with the sensational form that he is in, he will be determined to win as much as possible to help his chances.
If the Anfield outfit can defeat a PSG side that have not lost in their last 22 matches over two legs, they will be confident that they can beat anyone.
The longer the hopes of a potential treble stay alive, the louder the noise will get, but the Dutchman will try to drown as much of that out as he can and keep his players focused on the pitch.
