Liverpool travel to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday as they return to Champions League action.

The Reds finished at the top of the new league phase, setting up a huge showdown against PSG after bypassing the last round.

Arne Slot is well on his way to winning the Premier League title in his first season, with the Carabao Cup final at Wembley quickly approaching, the new boss could seal a treble.

Liverpool predicted to struggle against Paris Saint-Germain

Although Liverpool are in spectacular form this season, PSG aren’t doing too badly themselves and currently sit 13 points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

The Opta Analyst Super Computer has predicted the Reds to struggle on their evening out in France, predicting a 39.8 per cent chance that the hosts win the game.

Liverpool are still predicted to have a 35.1 per cent chance of a win, with a draw 25.1 per cent likely.

Last time out in the Champions League, Liverpool fell to defeat against PSV, losing 3-2 with Amara Nallo receiving a red card.

Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, were 7-0 winners against Brest, showing they certainly can be unleashed at any moment if not careful.

Arne Slot keen on Champions League progression

Slot has taken no time to settle into life at Liverpool and in his first season with the Reds, has shown incredibly impressive signs of success.

However, having been knocked out of the FA Cup, Slot will want to bounce back from that and show that his side can continue to progress and reach the next stage of the Champions League.

Furthermore, given they will be facing a strong PSG side, overcoming them would be a real statement for the Reds, especially when it has been suggested their Premier League success is down to difficult circumstances for other sides.

Although the super computer hasn’t backed Slot’s side to get the victory against PSG, the percentages are close and it will be a tight affair with a return to Anfield in mind.
