Jim White left wowed as Simon Jordan drops ‘interesting’ Liverpool verdict

Jim White has been left in shock after what he heard Liverpool had done to their ticket prices for the 2025/26 season.

At the moment, tickets for a Premier League game at Liverpool range from the low price of £9 in the Main Stand Upper with prices going as high as £61 for a seat in the Main Stand itself [LiverpoolFC.com].

And, for the 2025/26 season, the Reds have frozen their casual ticket prices for the following campaign to keep prices to watch the Merseyside outfit at Anfield at a lower rate for fans.

These prices are set to stay in place next term with White and Simon Jordan both having their say on the situation with the latter making an “interesting” admission about the Reds’ process.

Simon Jordan baffled by Liverpool season ticket percentage

It’s undeniable that Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and they have been so for some time.

The Reds have more often than not made their way into the latter stages of European competition and now find themselves at the top of the Premier League table.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (17 February), White and Jordan gave their opinions on the Reds’ choice to freeze prices with the latter making a comparison to his time as Crystal Palace’s owner.

“Wow, well done Spirit of Shankly, well done Liverpool for showing the rest the way, this can be done Simon,” White said.

“Not to put too fine a point on this, when you were at Palace you never did this [freeze general ticket prices].”

To which Jordan replied: “Of course I did, I froze season ticket prices virtually every year.

“Casual ticket prices no, but season tickets were my value. But there’s a difference between how I run Crystal Palace and how Liverpool are run.

“Liverpool are a club on a far greater scale than Crystal Palace and secondly, I wanted to get as many season ticket holders as possible but Liverpool don’t.

“They have an interesting policy which is very different to most clubs in the Premier League.

“They seem to want quite a low season ticket base and I was interested as to why that was because Liverpool running a 61,000 attendance and only having 28,000 season ticket holders seems to fly exactly in the face of everything other club in the Premier League.”

Liverpool and FSG have the fans in mind

While it may seem a bit strange on the face of things to not have all that many season ticket holders, with the way Liverpool do things, it allows more people to come and see their team in action.

There’s a massively long waiting list for season ticket holders and there’s no doubt that the Reds’ fans would fill up any spaces that become available in an instant.

However, having more casual match day tickets for sale allows more fans to see their club in action during a season which could end up with Arne Slot and his men lifting the Premier League title or even the Champions League.

There’s still plenty of time left to go in the season of course but if Liverpool can manage to beat both Aston Villa and Manchester City in their next two top-flight clashes, it feels like the top-flight title is as good as sealed.

Barring any major slip-ups such as their shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Plymouth Argyle, of course.
