Liverpool ace returns to AXA after medical issue in deadline day transfer
Jayden Danns will return to Liverpool to recover from an injury after completing a deadline day transfer to Sunderland, the Championship club have confirmed.
The Black Cats announced the signing of the 19-year-old striker on loan until the end of the season via their website on Tuesday, 4 February.
However, the Wearside-based club added that they identified a back injury during Danns’ medical on Monday (3 February) and revealed that he will undergo the first stages of the recovery back at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre.
Liverpool avoid Jayden Danns scare at Sunderland
Liverpool will relieved to learn that the injury is not back enough to see Danns’ deadline day transfer to Sunderland collapse.
Instead, the Reds will welcome the centre-forward back to Merseyside and help him recover from the back injury as soon as possible.
Arne Slot’s side are determined to allow Danns to get valuable first-team experience under his belt between now and the end of the season.
Having already made nine senior appearances for the Anfield outfit, the Liverpool-born frontman has already shown what he is capable of, netting three goals in total.
The fact that Danns’ first loan move is to a team competing for promotion in the Championship is a testament to his talent and potential.

Regis Le Bris will look to tap into that potential when the teenager returns from his rehabilitation with the Reds.
Given Danns’ abilities, it would not be a surprise if he is the next in line to establish himself as a regular first-team player for the Merseyside-based club.
