Liverpool gem sparks Championship transfer scramble ahead of Deadline Day
Jayden Danns is a wanted man ahead of transfer deadline day with Hull City entering the race to sign the Liverpool gem, according to James Fletcher.
The BBC Sport North Yorkshire journalist reported via his personal X account (2 February) that the Tigers have to beat competition from other Championship clubs however.
Although he did not reveal the names of other clubs in the race to sign the highly-rated striker, he shared a post from Pete O’Rourke, who revealed that Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers are also in the mix.
Arne Slot to sanction Jayden Danns exit from Liverpool
While Fletcher did not specify if Hull City want to sign Danns on loan or permanently, the former is likely to be the case.
The 19-year-old is highly regarded at the AXA training centre and it is hard to see the Reds sanction a permanent transfer for him at this stage.
Danns has made four appearances across all competitions for Arne Slot’s side this season, including a start in the 3-2 UEFA Champions League defeat against PSV Eindhoven on 29 January.
With the competition for places in the front three fierce at Anfield, it would make sense for the Merseyside-based club to let the teenager go out on loan for the second half of the season.
Blackburn, Sunderland and Hull City have been credited with an interest in the right-footed centre-forward.

While Blackburn and Sunderland are competing for Premier League promotion, Ruben Selles’ side are vying to avoid relegation, meaning Danns will have different challenges depending on where he goes.
In the end, playing time is what matters for the young hitman at this point in his career.
In other Liverpool news, Michael Owen has hit out at a shocking controversy that emerged in the Reds’ 2-0 win against Bournemouth on Saturday, 1 February.
