Liverpool are interested in signing Anis Hadj Moussa from Feyenoord, according to Foot Mercato.

The French outlet reported via their website on 27 January that the 22-year-old attacker has been on Arne Slot's radar since last season when he used to be Patro Eisden.

Liverpool, though, face competition from Chelsea, as well as Lille, who want to sign the Algeria international during the winter transfer window and have already convinced him of the transfer.

Feyenoord, meanwhile, do not want to sell Hadj Moussa midway through the season.

Arne Slot to use Feyenoord connection to sign Anis Hadj Moussa at Liverpool?

Hadj Moussa was not at Feyenoord when Slot left the Eredivisie club for Liverpool ahead of the 2024-25 season.

However, it appears the Dutch tactician has been tracking the left-footed winger even when he was in Rotterdam.

The Algerian has had a stable start to his life at Feyenoord, bagging six goals and two assists in 23 appearances across all competitions.

Although the numbers are not jaw-dropping by any means, it is worth noting that all those goal contributions came in his 13 Eredivisie and UEFA Champions League appearances since November.

Therefore, he could be in line for a better run in the second half of the season.

As a right-footed winger, it is easy to see why Liverpool are interested in Hadj Moussa.

Mohamed Salah is in the final six months of his contract at Anfield and even if the Egypt international stays put, the Reds would eventually need to replace him as he turns 33-year-old in June.
