Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez has been praised for his Uruguay performance against Bolivia by El Observador.

Writing on their website (27 June) the South American outlet awarded Nunez an 8/10 rating for his display in New Jersey.

The report read: "Another player who performed tremendously. He scored in his seventh consecutive game and even missed a few more situations. However, he always wanted to and always made things difficult."

He scored the second goal of the game in a 5-0 win for Uruguay.

Liverpool striker Nunez continues to impress on international stage

Nunez continues to earn his plaudits for his impressive displays at the 2024 Copa America.

His goal last night now takes his tally to two in as many games as Uruguay tops Group C. The 25-year-old was at the heart of attacks and could have added another.

Nunez is starting to find consistency and now has seven goals in consecutive games for his country.

As per Sofascore, he is the top scorer in the South American World Cup qualifying group with five goals in six matches.

Uruguay manager Marcelo Bielsa has found a way to get the best out of Nunez for the national team.

He saw his header hit the crossbar seven minutes after scoring his goal and missed another few chances.

The Liverpool number nine looked rejuvenated with confidence in America following another hit-and-miss season at Anfield.

No doubt Arne Slot will be tracking Nunez at the tournament as he plans to turn around his Liverpool fortunes.

Uruguay will play the USA next in the final group stage game 2 July.

Slot and Liverpool fans will be watching as Nunez continues to shine and try to fire his country to Copa America glory.
