Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa is still a few games away from being considered a regular starter even though he does not have an injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has analysed Arne Slot's comments on the Italy international who's yet to make his debut for the Reds.

They visit San Siro on 17 September and the Dutchman has confirmed that the 26-year-old is in contention for the game.

"Slot has said that he has trained with the team a few times but not quite ready to make his first-team debut yet.

"This sounds like a club getting a player up to fitness and learning a new environment, system, and teammates.

"Slot even said that Chiesa could’ve played in an emergency situation so doesn’t sound like any injury concerns, rather just the normal adaptation process.

"He’ll still need a few games off the bench before he can be considered to start regularly."

Liverpool are wise to not rush Federico Chiesa in

It makes sense to give the 26-year-old time to adapt as he's moving to a new league with high expectations.

Often, players who've come in from foreign leagues have been thrown into the deep end and then faced fitness issues.

Hopefully, the Italian can be a crucial first-team player and take the burden off Mo Salah in the final third.
