Slot continues to work on building his coaching staff following the announcement of Briggs and said there will be more new faces.

The Dutch manager revealed in his first Liverpool press conference (5 July) that he expected two more coaches to join him at Anfield.

Briggs will bring experience as a coach and an analyst, and is the fourth new backroom staff member for the 2024/25 season.

Sipke Hulshoff joined as assistant head coach, Ruben Peeters as lead physical performance coach and Fabian Otte as head of first-team goalkeeping coach.

Former Everton player Johnny Heitinga is under consideration by the club following his departure from West Ham to replace Vitor Matos (BBC Sport, 9 July).

Ex-Liverpool cult hero Dirk Kuyt, meanwhile, has revealed he is in discussions with the club about a potential return under Slot (The Mirror, 12 July).

Slot will aim to have a full coaching staff together before the full squad is available for pre-season following Copa America and Euro 2024 commitments.

He has already begun to put his own stamp on proceedings, making the change from Jurgen Klopp's infamous pre-season lactate test to a six-minute race test.

The AXA Training Centre will feel like a different place for the Liverpool players this summer as Slot aims to build a coaching staff capable of succeeding at Anfield.
