Liverpool have not been afraid of splashing the cash so far this summer.

Arne Slot’s side have already spent over £200 million, with assets such as Florian Wirtz joining the Merseyside club.

However, the Reds have no intention of stopping here, and Liverpool have been linked to Morgan Rogers.

The Aston Villa starlet was fantastic last season, and the attacker picked up 29 goal contributions.

Aston Villa have ‘no desire’ to sell Rogers

With stars such as Luis Diaz linked away from Liverpool, Slot is not prepared to end his hunt for new attackers.

Malick Fofana has been linked to Anfield in recent days after a great season in Lyon.

However, it now appears that Liverpool may have to give up on their pursuit of Villa’s Rogers.

According to The Guardian (30 June), Unai Emery has “no desire” to sell the England international this summer.

This news comes amid the Birmingham outfit’s sale of their women’s team, which is set to relieve their ongoing PSR concerns and give them more freedom in the transfer market.

Therefore, Villa are no longer under pressure to sell their best players in order to avoid financial breaches.

Slot better to look abroad for new attacker

As good as Rogers is, Villa were no doubt looking for a hefty fee to part with the winger.

This would have likely been well above his actual value, especially as the 22-year-old has only had one good season in the Premier League.

Therefore, if Slot does still wants to add to his attack, the manager may well be better off looking abroad.

Someone like Fofana would likely be cheaper than Rogers, yet has far more experience at the top level as well as having plenty of potential.

Hopefully, Slot will examine all of his options before he makes a decision in the transfer window.
