Jamie Carragher rages over ‘absolutely braindead’ moment in Burnley vs Liverpool
Jamie Carragher was up in arms about a moment in Liverpool’s late Premier League win over Burnley on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah scored a late Liverpool penalty against Burnley, as the Reds made it four wins from four to return to the top of the table.
It had been a closely contested match, with the home side going down to 10 men after Lesley Ugochukwu was sent off for his second bookable offence.
Milos Kerkez was substituted in the first half after he was booked for diving, with Arne Slot looking to avoid the same fate for his left-back.
Alexander Isak was not involved against Burnley, with the striker set to make his Liverpool debut in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Jamie Carragher blasts Hannibal Mejbri after moment of madness
Salah had scored just one goal in 10 games against Burnley, but the Egyptian international made no mistake when handed the chance to put Liverpool ahead.
The Reds had looked set to share the points with their hosts, with Scott Parker’s side putting in a terrific defensive effort.
But it was a moment of madness from substitute Hannibal Mejbri that gave Slot’s side the opening they had been hoping for.
Liverpool – Next five | Date |

With just seconds remaining in the game, Jeremie Frimpong looked to loop the ball over the Tunisia international.
But as he prepared to block the cross, Mejbri inexplicably turned his back and raised his arm, the ball striking his elbow.
Michael Oliver instantly pointed to the spot and the 22-year-old held his head in his hands, knowing that there would be no complaints.
Carragher, who was commentating live on Sky Sports on Sunday, said: “What is he doing, absolutely braindead.”
Liverpool get reward for huge pressure
Despite how close the scoreline ultimately was, Liverpool always looked likely to get the winner they desired.
The Reds enjoyed 81% possession and registered a massive 27 shots, but for the most part, failed to put their efforts on target.
Slot’s side undoubtedly did enough to win the match, however, having created 1.66 expected goals, and would have felt very hard done by if they had walked away with just a point.
