Mohamed Salah could be hours away from overtaking remarkable Sergio Aguero feat

Mohamed Salah has yet another milestone in his sights as Liverpool prepare to welcome Bournemouth on the opening night of the Premier League season.

Egypt international Salah was crowned Liverpool‘s Player of the Season as they won the Premier League for a second time last time out.

Salah has a remarkable goalscoring record on matchday one over the years, scoring the most goals of any player in Premier League history.

And the 33-year-old could now overtake Manchester City great Sergio Aguero in another category when Liverpool host Bournemouth.

Salah’s goalscoring record at Anfield makes for incredible reading

Salah has been backed by unlikely ally Casemiro to win this year’s Ballon d’Or after a superb season last time out.

The former Chelsea ace scored 29 goals in total in the Premier League to help the Reds to another major piece of silverware.

As a result, Salah has now won nine trophies as a Liverpool player in what has been a legendary spell at Anfield.

Salah also holds the record for the most Premier League goals scored at Anfield by an individual player, with that tally standing at 105.

As per Opta, Salah is third on the list when it comes to top Premier League scorers at a certain ground, with Sergio Aguero (106 at the Etihad Stadium) and Thierry Henry (114 at Highbury) the only two in front.

That means Salah could draw level, and indeed overtake, Aguero on that impressive list if he nets twice against Bournemouth on Friday.

Salah’s goalscoring record v Bournemouth

Salah scoring twice against Bournemouth is certainly not out of the question. Indeed, he has scored more Premier League goals against them (11) than any other player has managed.

Furthermore, as previously mentioned, Salah has scored more goals (nine) on the opening weekend of a Premier League campaign than any other player.

Only former Manchester United player Paul Pogba, meanwhile, has more assists on matchday one (six compared to Salah’s five).
