Liverpool vs Crystal Palace preview

The Reds enjoyed a promising pre-season campaign, winning five of their six matches, with the likes of Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz settling in.

It started with a 3-1 win over Preston, before a 5-0 victory over Stoke in a behind-closed-doors clash, before they travelled on their tour of Asia.

They would lose 4-2 to AC Milan in Hong Kong but rebounded with a 3-1 win over Yokohama Marinos and finished their preparations with a positive double header against Athletic Bilbao.

Meanwhile, Palace were victorious in three of their four pre-season outings, with wins over Millwall, Crawley Town and Augsburg.

Their only defeat came in the second clash of a double header against Augsburg, and they will be confident that they can seal an upset against the Anfield outfit.

Slot could hand out four debuts for the clash with the Eagles, with Wirtz, Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong in line to start.

Dominik Szoboszlai might be given the nod over Alexis Mac Allister, as the Argentine star only featured for a total of 82 minutes in pre-season.

Joe Gomez is the only guaranteed absentee for Liverpool, but Conor Bradley is also a doubt for the contest.

Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner is expected to be without Eddie Nketiah, Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure for the clash.
