Liverpool have perfect Alisson replacement as new Pecsi footage emerges

Liverpool will eventually have to replace Alisson.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been a fundamental part of the Reds’ success, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy.

However, age will eventually catch up with the 32-year-old, who is entering his eighth season as the Anfield outfit’s number one.

Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed last summer and finally linked up with his new teammates in pre-season after spending last season on loan at Valencia.

However, he may not be the man to replace the former Roma stopper after new footage emerged.

Pesci footage emerges from Liverpool training

Liverpool signed Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi in June from Puskas Akademia, and he could overtake Mamardashvili in the pecking order in the years to come.

The latest inside training video released by the champions (28 July) will only serve to increase the hype surrounding the 20-year-old.

The footage (14:05) shows the young stopper saving powerful efforts from fellow Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai and Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah on the Hong Kong tour.

Liverpool could give Pecsi a chance to shine in pre-season

Pecsi may be handed a chance to impress against Yokohama Marinos (30 July) after Alisson was sent home from the Asian tour due to personal reasons.

He will likely spend time in the Under-21s or with the first team squad as third-choice behind the Brazilian and the Georgian, but could also be sent on loan to gain vital playing experience.

However, if he performs well and impresses Slot, he may well earn a chance in the senior side in the near future and leapfrog the former Valencia man once Alisson departs.

Slot seems likely to give more chances to youth players this season, with Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni being given more opportunities in pre-season.

That duo have taken their chance, exciting supporters with their performances and Pecsi will be hoping to do the same if he starts against the Japanese side.

The latest footage will only do him favours, if he performs like that in training regularly, it will only be a matter of time before he makes an impression on Slot and is handed his chance to make an impact.
