‘Rio Ngumoha to be Slot’s next Liverpool star’ as new footage emerges
Rio Ngumoha is quickly becoming a household name at Liverpool.
The 16-year-old shone on his first team debut last season in the 4-1 FA Cup third-round win against Accrington Stanley, earning comparisons to Kylian Mbappe.
He was given another chance to impress against Preston in the 3-1 win to start the Premier League champions’ pre-season campaign.
He did just that, as it was his pass that led to Conor Bradley’s opening goal, and he was constantly harassing the Lilywhites’ defence, leaving supporters in awe.

Ngumoha shines as Liverpool footage emerges
Ngumoha’s move to Liverpool caused a lot of controversy, with Chelsea absolutely furious that the Reds poached the young star.
Both clubs would end up banning youth scouts from attending matches due to the transfer leaving a sour taste with the Blues.
However, the fallout was justified as the former Stamford Bridge ace looks set to light up Anfield in the near future.
The hype surrounding him will only increase after new footage emerged from training, with Ngumoha embarrassing Ryan Gravenberch and Jeremie Frimpong by beating them with ease (10:32).
Ngumoha set to be next Liverpool star
Ngumoha is one of the most highly-rated talents in English football right now, and it is easy to see why that is the case.
His electric pace, ball-carrying ability and composure have earned comparisons with Anfield legend Sadio Mane, who was a key element of Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Stats | Ngumoha v Preston |
Pass accuracy | 13/14 (93%) |
Chances created | 1 |
Touches in opposition box | 8 |
Dribble success | 2/2 (100%) |
If he can improve his physical attributes and his end product, there is no reason why Slot will not be able to call on him shortly on a regular basis.
He moved to Liverpool due to the promise of an easier path to the first team, and he could very well be fast-tracked into the senior side, due to his immense ability already at such a young age.
The talk is about Rodrygo and Anthony Gordon potentially replacing Luis Diaz, if the Colombian departs, but at this rate, it will be Ngumoha who takes that spot, if he continues what he is doing.
It would not be a surprise if he performs when given the chance, either, given how he handled the established stars in the footage.
