‘Gary Neville raging’ as Liverpool close in on new Salford transfer agreement
Liverpool could be about to upset Gary Neville yet again, before the Premier League season even gets underway.
So far this summer, there are plenty of reasons for Neville and his fellow Manchester United supporters to be jealous of Liverpool.
The Reds lifted the Premier League title earlier this summer and now look to continue to go from strength to strength under Arne Slot.
Florian Wirtz’s arrival is set to elevate Liverpool to a new level, whilst rumours surrounding a potential move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak are heating up.
The bad news does not stop there for Neville, however, with Liverpool closing in on signing a player from Salford.

Liverpool on the verge of poaching Salford star
Despite a new striker being a clear priority for Liverpool in the market, they are also able to complete the signing of promising youngsters.
Although they won’t feature in Slot’s starting XI anytime soon, they could prove to be smart investments in the future.
This is exactly what the Reds are doing with their proposed signing of 17-year-old Will Wright from Salford.
According to Alex Crook on X (16 July), Liverpool are closing in on the teenager who is set to move to Merseyside for a six-figure fee.
The wonderkid has already made four senior appearances for Salford and has caught the eye during pre-season, with Wright scoring four goals in friendlies in the space of a week.
Now Liverpool are set to poach Salford’s youngster, with shareholders Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, the Nevilles, Paul Scholes and David Beckham unlikely to be thrilled at the news.
Wright to further establish himself as a Liverpool legend
Given the fact that Wright already looks to snub the ‘Class of 92’ to join Liverpool, he will already be somewhat of a legend to the Anfield faithful.
If the teenager’s development continues in L4 and he can establish himself in Slot’s first team in the coming years, then that would become all the sweeter given where he joined from.
The Reds are still on the hunt for players that will help the side in the here and now, with Jean-Philippe Mateta another potential candidate to fill the void for Slot up front.
