Exclusive: Ahmed to sign new Liverpool contract as Mo Salah talks revealed
Kareem Ahmed is one of the most promising talents in Liverpool’s academy.
The 18-year-old has been with the Premier League champions since the age of six and is primarily an attacking midfielder, although he can also feature across the front three.
Ahmed has notched 12 goals and six assists in 44 matches in the Anfield outfit’s youth ranks and looks set for a step-up to the Under-21s next season.
Along with that, could come a new contract.

Liverpool set to tie Ahmed down amid Mo Salah talks
Liverpool have offered Ahmed fresh terms, as per their retained list, but there has been no official update on his situation.
He is set to sign a new contract with the Reds, and it could be within the next week, Liverpool News has learned.
Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, a source close to the situation said: “He’s a skilful player who is full of creativity and can be a game changer.
“He is very flexible position-wise but has the vision to unlock defences as an attacking midfielder. He was held back by a few niggly injuries last season, but is looking to kick on now.”
They also revealed that Mohamed Salah has been checking in on his compatriots’ development.
He said: “Mo Salah has popped down to see him now and again with the Egyptian connection.”

Ahmed can be the next Salah for Liverpool
With an Egyptian talent, it is very easy to make the comparison to Salah, but Ahmed genuinely could be the heir to his throne.
His numbers have been rising season after season, and he bagged six goals and five assists in 22 matches last time out.

He is very hard to dispossess when he is on the ball and seems to have a knack for timing his runs into the box, which could be a valuable asset to the Merseysiders should his development continue on the right path.
Arne Slot and Co need to keep an eye out for Ahmed shortly; they could have a superstar on their hands if they get it right.
With the right coaching and development, and input from the Egyptian King himself, his youth international compatriot could go right to the top.
