Liverpool fans will love footage of what just happened at Old Trafford

Liverpool fans have yet another reason to laugh at their fierce rivals Manchester United.

Arne Slot’s Premier League title in his first season in charge of Liverpool was made even sweeter when Manchester United could only manage to finish 15th.

Liverpool will aim to maintain the gap between the two clubs going into next season, and the signing of German playmaker Florian Wirtz may do the trick.

Man United left embarrassed after Soccer Aid incident

Old Trafford played host to the 2025 edition of Soccer Aid on Sunday (15 June). However, at one point, the stadium sounded more like Anfield on a matchday.

When players were substituted on during the game, a song of their choice accompanied their entrance onto the pitch.

Sam Quek, an Olympic and European gold medallist in hockey, opted to make her entrance to ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

The Olympian posted the video of this on her official X account (15 June) with the caption ‘YNWA’.

Unsurprisingly, Quek’s entrance was met with a chorus of boos from those in attendance.

Manchester United fans had even more reasons to be annoyed when their former player Carlos Tevez, who eventually went on to become a legend at Manchester City, scored four goals and gloated in front of the supporters.

Quek also made sure to get a photo with Tevez, which she also later posted on X following the game.

The Liverpool fan wrote above the picture:

“I don’t know what got more boos from the Old Trafford crowd… me coming on to ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ or this fella bagging 4 in front of the Stretford End.”

Liverpool should expect more competition next season

Whilst the likes of United did not challenge Slot’s Liverpool side at all last season, you would expect them to improve going into the next campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur are also likely to get much better, and Manchester City and Arsenal are also set to strengthen going into next season.

If Liverpool want to retain the Premier League, it is crucial that they also add reinforcements in the summer.

Milos Kerkez looks set to join the club and become Slot’s first-choice left-back.

The Hungarian could replace Andy Robertson, who has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.

Anthony Gordon has also been rumoured to be joining Liverpool as the Reds look to strengthen their forward line.
