‘Liverpool could already regret Kelleher sale’ after Alisson exit news emerges
Liverpool’s goalkeeping department has already been heavily shaken up this summer.
Caoimhin Kelleher has been a reliable understudy for Alisson over the years, but has completed a move to Brentford in pursuit of more regular playing time.
It led to Arne Slot making an early move in the window.
Hungarian shot-stopper Armin Pecsi has been signed to add this depth alongside Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will become a part of the Reds’ squad following the end of his loan at Valencia.

Alisson could now leave Liverpool
Liverpool are already set for a significant change to their squad in the summer, with the likes of Darwin Nunez and Jarell Quansah being linked with a move away from Anfield.
One player Slot will not want to lose this transfer window is Alisson.
The Brazilian has been an integral part of everything Liverpool has achieved since he arrived from AS Roma back in 2018.
Whilst Alisson, 32, is ultimately closer to his departure from Anfield than his arrival, his exit could be sooner than anticipated.
According to reports from Florian Plettenberg on X (14 June), Galatasaray made an enquiry for Alisson a few weeks ago.
Whilst the Brazilian international turned this approach down, this could open the floodgates for other clubs to attempt to sign the goalkeeper.

With Alisson’s contract coming to an end in 2027, this could potentially be the last summer Liverpool could receive a sizeable fee for the goalkeeper, if the Reds don’t opt to extend his stay.
If a tempting offer comes in for Alisson and Liverpool choose to let him go, then Slot will be forced to lean on Mamardashvili to be the first-choice keeper.
Whether the Georgian can replicate the success of Kelleher in a Liverpool shirt is yet to be seen, and could make the Reds regret their decision to let the Irishman leave.
Liverpool must prepare for their legends’ departures
It’s fair to say that Alisson, along with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, have been the spine of this Liverpool side for multiple years.
Whilst all three of these players are ageing, they are still some of the best in the world in their position.
How long they will be able to continue to play at a world-class level remains to be seen, and that is why Liverpool need to prepare for the future.
Florian Wirtz can potentially ease the attacking burden that has been placed on Salah’s shoulders for multiple years, whilst Mamardashvili seems to be a goalkeeper with plenty of potential who could replace Alisson when he decides to leave.
Slot still needs to find another elite centre half to play alongside van Dijk, who is then capable of taking the next step and leading the Liverpool backline once the captain’s tenure at the club comes to an end.
A new era is close at Liverpool, but Alisson still has plenty to give.
