Liverpool news round-up: Gerrard in contention for job as Anfield figure finished
Liverpool are already having a busy transfer window, with more arrivals and departures from Merseyside expected.
The Reds look to retain their Premier League title, after Arne Slot’s first season in charge brought their record 20th League victory.
Fenway Sports Group have already backed the Merseyside club, with the record-breaking transfer for Florian Wirtz agreed, and they look to go even further.
Liverpool News brings a round-up of the recent headlines from Anfield.

FSG look to increase sponsorship revenue
Fenway Sports Group have been previously criticised for a lack of spending on the pitch; however, after it was reported that Liverpool’s revenue could be over £600million the group look to spend big this summer.
A new commercial deal could increase revenues even further for the Merseyside club.
Liverpool’s contract with front-of-shirt sponsor Standard Chartered is set to expire after the 2026-27 season, and has been in place since 2010.
Kieran Maguire exclusively revealed to Liverpool News that he believes Liverpool could achieve a higher sponsorship deal that would match rivals Manchester United.
Quansah exit update shared
Jarell Quansah could leave Merseyside this summer, after struggling under Arne Slot.
The 22-year-old, who broke through under Klopp, has attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen as they have contacted Liverpool.
The two clubs have already completed two major deals this summer, with the arrival of Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong in Merseyside.
The Reds are said to have valued Quansah at £40m, with Slot likely to approve a sale around the figure after the centre-back has failed to bring successful performances this season.

Gerrard set to return to English football
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is searching for a new managerial position after leaving Al-Ettifaq in January.
Gerrard has struggled to replicate his successful stint as Rangers manager and their 2020/21 Scottish Premiership victory.
However, Gerrard is in surprise contention for the Sheffield United job following news that Chris Wilder could be sacked.
Sheffield United will look to push for promotion from the Championship next season and could see Gerrard as the man for the job, with a Liverpool reunion possible if successful.
Luiz Diaz finished at Liverpool
Diaz scored 13 Premier League goals this past season to help Liverpool’s 20th title victory, yet the Colombian looks set to exit Merseyside this summer.
Barcelona have previously expressed interest in Diaz.
As reported from abroad, Liverpool have joined the race for Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
With the transfer of Wirtz having already gone through, if Slot continues to pursue Ekitike, Diaz’s position becomes highly challenged.
The forward is unlikely to be kept on the bench, as Liverpool value Diaz at £67.6million, therefore his time at Anfield is likely over.
