‘Luiz Diaz finished at Liverpool’ after what’s been said abroad

Luis Diaz’s Liverpool future has been speculated on for weeks after the Colombian won the Premier League.

The attacker played a crucial role in Arne Slot’s side this past season as they won their 20th top-flight title.

The 28-year-old scored 13 Premier League goals to ensure that the Anfield faithful could finally see the trophy lifted on Merseyside.

However, Diaz has been linked with Barcelona in recent weeks, with the Catalan club keen on acquiring the winger.

Now, it appears that Liverpool could be preparing for his exit, given the recent transfer news.

Liverpool aim to add Hugo Ekitike to their attack

The Reds have wasted no time in the transfer window. Liverpool have already overseen the signing of Jeremie Frimpong.

On top of this, Liverpool are expected to seal the signing of Florian Wirtz for a record fee over the coming days.

However, Slot is not done there in aiming to the Merseyside club’s firepower.

According to reports from abroad, Liverpool are in the race for Ekitike and have held concrete talks with the Frankfurt star.

The Frenchman is a striker, the position Diaz was often utilised in under Slot last season.

With Wirtz already expected to start on the left, if Ekitike joins Liverpool, surely that will be the end of the Colombian’s time at Anfield.

It is unlikely that after how much the Reds have spent that they will be looking to keep an expensive asset on the bench.

Therefore, if the Frenchman does join, surely Liverpool will accept an offer from Barcelona for the attacker.

Liverpool fans need to stay patient with new signings

Liverpool’s attack has been in dire need of reinforcements for a number of years.

Multiple players in the frontline are ageing or out of form, which has resulted in the high spending this summer.

With Wirtz and possibly Ekitike coming through the door, the Anfield faithful need to be patient with the duo.

They will be part of a completely new front three having never played in England before, and will need time to adapt.

Hopefully, if they do sign, they will get off to a quick start in order to mount a solid defence of their title.
