Liverpool agree five-year deal in exciting confirmed summer transfer

Liverpool are already adding to their squad on the back of winning the Premier League title.

Arne Slot is certainly not resting on his laurels ahead of his second season in charge of Liverpool.

Liverpool unexpectedly won the league in dominant fashion in Slot’s first season.

However, with rivals such as Manchester City strengthening during the transfer window, Liverpool must keep up.

Florian Wirtz represents the clear ambition of Liverpool wanting to retain the title, with the German midfielder set to conduct his medical in the coming days.

Pecsi to Liverpool details revealed

Alongside the incoming Jeremie Frimpong and the inevitable signing of Wirtz, Liverpool are set to strengthen their goalkeeping department with the signing of Armin Pecsi.

Pecsi, 20, impressed as the first-choice goalkeeper for Puskas Akademia in the Hungarian top flight last season.

With the departure of Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford, as the Irishman seeks more regular playing time, Pecsi is set to provide valuable depth in goal for Liverpool.

According to m4sport (7 June), Pecsi’s agent has now confirmed that the Hungarian shot-stopper has signed a five-year contract at Anfield.

The agent, Mátyás Esterházy, also revealed that Pecsi would be part of Liverpool’s squad next season and will not be loaned out.

“Next season, Armin will be at Liverpool,” Esterházy said.

“This was one of the most important links in our decision. We chose Liverpool because they outlined a professional plan that we can identify with, and Armin is a very intelligent, patient and ambitious player.”

Liverpool have a solid set of goalkeepers for next season.

Whilst the signing of Pecsi is unlikely to drum up any major excitement from Liverpool supporters, it was a necessary move.

The 20-year-old will also have plenty of time to learn and develop by training with Alisson, who is one of the best goalkeepers the Premier League has ever seen.

This can only be beneficial for Pecsi.

Slot will need more signings

A few members of the Liverpool squad seem to have uncertain futures after they were rarely used by Slot last season.

Darwin Nunez, Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa are just a few players who could be set to leave the Merseyside club this summer.

If they all leave, then they will certainly need to be replaced.

Preferably, this will be with players Slot trusts more, as the Dutch manager was not convinced enough by their abilities to involve those players on a regular basis last season.
