Liverpool ready next transfer as goalkeeper signs contract at Anfield
Liverpool are looking to make a statement ahead of next season by making a splash in the transfer market.
Jeremie Frimpong’s move to Anfield was confirmed last week, as the Reds moved early to replace the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Caoimhin Kelleher has departed Liverpool for Brentford, ending his 10-year spell in the North West in search of regular first-team football.
With Giorgi Mamardashvili returning from his Valencia loan after his deal was confirmed last summer, the goalkeeper department didn’t look like an area Liverpool would be looking to improve in the market.
However, the Premier League Champions’ second summer signing looks to be between the sticks.

Armin Pecsi set to join Liverpool
Liverpool are set to complete a deal to sign highly rated goalkeeper Armin Pecsi.
Fabrizio Romano reported via X (7 June) that the Hungarian goalkeeper has signed his contract at Anfield, with an official announcement likely to come early next week.
The Reds will pay Puskas Akademia £1.5million for Pecsi, who is expected to start next season in Liverpool’s Under-21s side.
The 20-year-old had a breakout season in 2024/25, keeping 11 clean sheets in 36 appearances in all competitions, leading to his nomination for the European Golden Boy award.
Liverpool can focus on other areas now goalkeeper position is secured
Liverpool have areas in the squad that need improvement, but the goalkeeper department is now secure for the next decade.
Alisson Becker will likely retain the number one spot until his contract ends in 2027, with Mamardashvili primed to succeed him.
Vitezslav Jaros is currently third-choice at Anfield but could leave on loan to gain first-team experience, while Pecsi will develop in the academy.
Liverpool can now turn their attention further up the pitch, specifically securing the signings of Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
It has been reported that Wirtz will undergo a medical next week, with negotiations between the Reds and Leverkusen entering its final stages, in what would be a British record transfer.
Kerkez, meanwhile, also looks likely to end up at Anfield next season, with personal terms having been agreed, and Liverpool are closing in on an agreement with Bournemouth for the left-back.
With these proposed signings all under the age of 25, Liverpool look to be setting themselves up well for the long term.
