Florian Wirtz medical set in coming hours as Liverpool reach transfer agreement
Liverpool look on the verge of completing their second signing of the ongoing transfer window with Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz.
Arne Slot’s team have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from the Bundesliga outfit and are hoping to get another of their superstars.
Wirtz has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield after another influential season in Germany, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists in the league.
The Reds now seem to be on the verge of completing a mega move for the 22-year-old, with an official announcement expected soon.

Wirtz sure of Liverpool transfer as medical expected in coming days
Wirtz’s medical at Liverpool is expected to take place in the coming days, as a total agreement with Leverkusen is anticipated, Florian Plettenberg says.
The Sky Sports reporter revealed that the Reds have made a mega offer of around £126million, including add-ons, to seal a deal for the German playmaker.
Plettenberg revealed that while some details are still being worked out, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder is confident his move to Anfield will materialise soon.

Speaking to Sky Sports News on X (8 June), the journalist said: “I expect the medical will take place in the next days as we expect a total agreement between Liverpool and Leverkusen within the next one, two or three days.
“There has been a new offer, a fresh offer from Liverpool… and the total package is now almost £126m, with a big package of possible add-ons included.
“Some more details, some more figures have to be clarified, but Wirtz is totally convinced that the deal will happen in the next couple of days.”

Liverpool building competitive squad with Wirtz after Premier League win
Liverpool have lost Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of next season, but they seem to be building a competitive squad that can be successful once again.
Federico Chiesa may soon leave Anfield after being the only signing at the Reds in the previous two transfer windows.
It isn’t surprising to see Fenway Sports Group (FSG) putting their hands in their pockets after hardly spending any money recently.
Liverpool will likely allow some of their players to leave this summer, with Darwin Nunez’s departure on the cards after failing to meet expectations.
While Wirtz will undoubtedly add creativity in the Reds’ final third, they should also look to buy a new reliable goalscorer.
Mohamed Salah has been the Merseyside outfit’s talisman, but he may need more support next season to win more trophies.
The Anfield faithful are excited to see Wirtz make his way to the Premier League, and it feels like only a matter of time before the deal happens.
