Curtis Jones ‘utter garbage’ as he’s torn to shreds of what happened in England win
Curtis Jones played 81 minutes for England on Sunday, as they beat Andorra 1-0.
Thomas Tuchel’s starting line-up for the game in Barcelona was not necessarily England’s best 11, although the boss did hand the opportunity for minutes around.
Jordan Henderson’s inclusion from the start led to many raised eyebrows from supporters, although he was not the only person who came under criticism.
Having helped to guide Liverpool to lifting the Premier League trophy this season, Tuchel clearly felt Jones was deserving of minutes on the international stage, although he did not give him a full chance to shine.

Jones blasted for out-of-position performance
While Tuchel felt the 24-year-old was deserving of minutes in an England shirt, the boss’ decision didn’t give him too much of a chance to shine.
Although Jones is usually a midfielder, Tuchel opted to use him as a right-back in the game.
This did amuse some Liverpool supporters who enjoyed him starting over Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is moving to Real Madrid this summer.
However, on an evening where England struggled to show any real spark, Jones was one who did come under criticism for his performance.
Had he been in his natural position, it may have been a different story, but supporters were left calling Jones out for being “bang average” and “garbage.”
Jones to prove himself for Liverpool
It wasn’t the greatest of evenings for England.
Although Harry Kane’s goal provided a lead after 50 minutes, the side struggled to pick up any momentum from that and the game fizzled out early on.

You do have to feel a bit for the Liverpool man, though, as he was played out of position and was unlikely to reach his full potential at right-back.
Having registered seven goal contributions in 33 Premier League appearances this season, it’s clear that the 24-year-old has the talent to succeed and any chance to appear for England is special.
However, the Englishman will be hoping for more responsibility at club level next term, in the hope that he can then show what he is really capable of on the international stage.
