Dominik Szoboszlai ‘to bring’ Milos Kerkez to Liverpool after latest reveal

Liverpool are well underway with their summer transfer business at Anfield.

Arne Slot had the perfect first season with the Reds and is eager to build upon that, aiming for a second Premier League title next term.

Liverpool have already announced the signing of Jeremie Frimpong and several names are already on the target list for Slot’s next move.

One man who is heavily linked with a move to Anfield is Milos Kerkez, and it could be Dominik Szoboszlai who helps to get a deal over the line.

Kerkez makes Szoboszlai admission

After an impressive season with Bournemouth, there is interest in gaining Kerkez’s services this summer.

Although Andy Robertson has been a servant for the Reds, a more youthful left-back could be what’s needed to progress.

It has been reported that Liverpool are yet to make a formal approach to the Cherries, but the 21-year-old could surely be part of a new era at Anfield.

However, there are several sides credited with interest in the left-back this summer, which could see Liverpool have a fight on their hands to strike a deal.

The defender is currently on international camp with the Hungarian national team, where he links up with current Liverpool man Szoboszlai.

The pair are not just teammates, though, as Kerkez gushed over his friendship with the midfielder.

Speaking to Hungarian news outlet Nemzeti Sport (28 May), he said: “We met when I first joined the national team and we spoke German because I didn’t dare to speak Hungarian yet. He switched to German and accepted me. From then on, we spoke every day and got to know each other better.

“We are still very close, we write to each other or call each other every other day, we talk about many things. It feels good to have a friend who always answers the phone. When you call him, he answers and doesn’t put his mobile on silent.”

When asked specifically about the speculation surrounding his future, Kerkez went on to say: “Of course, something always leaks into the news, I don’t know how. At the same time, I think it’s normal that if you play well and the team does well, then you get into the news and end up on the front page, and everyone talks about you. I see this as fuel that drives me forward. All this doesn’t break me, but it doesn’t boost my ego either, but it teaches me humility and motivates me.”

Szoboszlai could be Liverpool secret weapon

It’s clear from his comments that Kerkez is incredibly close to Szoboszlai and therefore, that relationship could help to bring the defender to Anfield this summer.

The youngster has had an incredibly impressive season, showing what he is made of with the Cherries and it’s no surprise that Slot is interested in bringing him to Merseyside.

Kerkez’s season at Bournemouth.

In a side full of great players, the 21-year-old will surely only progress from where he is now and reach even higher levels of performance.

If his international teammate can help him to settle in quicker, too, and put any worries about a move to bed, that will be a massive bonus for the Merseyside outfit.

Based on how much they speak, it could be Szoboszlai who ensures the move is sold to his friend before a deal is struck to make it happen.
