Alexander-Arnold has €1billion release clause at Real Madrid

Real Madrid confirmed the signing of Alexander-Arnold on Friday (30 May).

Real were desperate to secure the 26-year-old’s services in time for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Liverpool have confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will be released from his contract early after receiving a fee from Real Madrid, with the England international set to join the Spanish giants on 1 June.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (30 May), that fee is worth £8.4million.

In a follow-up tweet, Romano reported (30 May) that Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Real Madrid includes a €1b release clause.
