Liverpool ‘ready to sign Wirtz’ after mega-money transfer reveal – Exclusive
Liverpool continue to be linked with a deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
The Reds are set for a busy summer transfer window as Arne Slot looks to improve the squad.
Wirtz is one of the hottest properties in world football, with the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also interested in his services.
A deal would reportedly cost Liverpool in the region of £126million, and that is before wages and other financial aspects are even considered. However, that doesn’t seem to be a problem.

Liverpool have the money to sign Wirtz
Manchester City pulled out of a deal for Wirtz, citing the exorbitant costs to seal a transfer [BBC Sport]. However, the costs involved might not stop Liverpool.
Finance expert Dan Plumley believes that the Reds can afford a deal for Wirtz, and it will come down to whether or not Fenway Sports Group will sanction the mega-money move.
Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, Plumley said, “Yeah, Wirtz is going to come at a price, isn’t he.
“We have talked about Liverpool at length, in terms of whether they can afford it. I know the price tag is big, and that is factoring in wages and everything else that comes with it, but Liverpool are going to be one of those clubs that can afford to pay it.
“Premier League champions, they will be in the UEFA Champions League next season, the whole kind of commercial operation of the club, their revenue is one of the highest in world football, is it there for them to do that kind of deal if they want to.
“Ultimately, it comes down to the owners, and that is where you can draw the line on it; it is an owner decision, the question is how much they want to spend and on whom, that is going to be what dictates the strategy this summer. You know if it is to be Wirtz, then it is a big price, but Liverpool can afford it.”

Wirtz deal is achievable for Liverpool
Plumley’s reveal shows that the Reds have the money to purchase the Leverkusen star.
Therefore, it is simply a matter of whether Henry and Co feel like they will be getting bang for their buck.

If the Reds can pull off a deal, they will be in pole position to defend their title and maybe even go one better next season by winning the Champions League.
