Liverpool are owned by Fenway Sports Group, an American company founded in 2001 as New England Sports Ventures who purchased the club in 2011 from controversial former owners George Gillett Jr. and Tom Hicks.
FSG is a conglomerate headed by American businessman John Henry but Tom Werner is the chairman of the club.
The group hold an 80% shareholding in the Anfield club with RedBird Capital purchasing an 11% stake in 2021 and Dynasty Equity holding a minority share after investing in 2023 while NBA icon Lebron James is a minority partner with a 2% share.

John Henry is the face of Fenway Sports Group and was born in Quincy, Illinois in 1949.
He began his business career with a management company, John W.Henry & Company in 1981, which was successful and increased his worth to over $1billion.
Henry started his journey into sports ownership with a minor league baseball team in 1989 before partnering with Werner and other investors to create NESV and purchasing the Boston Red Sox in 2001.
Henry has been the Reds’ principal owner since 2011 and is currently looking to add more football teams to his portfolio.
