Liverpool player ‘weeks from exit’ after what happened at Anfield v Arsenal
Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday despite establishing a 2-0 lead.
The Reds put themselves two goals to the good thanks to Cody Gakpo’s header and Luis Diaz’s close-range effort.
But second-half strikes from Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino, who was later sent off, ensured that the points were shared at Anfield.
However, the football was overshadowed by the fact that several Liverpool supporters chose to boo Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of his move to Real Madrid.

Federico Chiesa surely set for Liverpool exit
The Anfield giants were crowned Premier League champions via their 5-1 win over Tottenham on 27 April, handing Arne Slot four games, including Sunday’s encounter with Arsenal, to look at members of his squad who he has rarely called upon this term.

Slot made a clear nod to the future by choosing to select Conor Bradley at right-back instead of Alexander-Arnold, before introducing the now-unpopular England international to the action as a substitute.
However, the Dutchman did not opt to name Federico Chiesa in his matchday squad, even though the Italy international is yet to make a Premier League start.
Slot’s decision indicates that Liverpool feel as though the 27-year-old does not have a future in the North West, despite agreeing terms at Anfield just last summer.

Liverpool will be eager to bounce back from Chelsea and Arsenal setbacks
With Chiesa seemingly set for the Anfield exit door alongside Alexander-Arnold, Slot could be set for a busy summer transfer window.
For now, though, Liverpool will be keen to get back to winning ways after being beaten 3-1 by Chelsea on 4 May before being held to a 2-2 draw by the Gunners last time out.
The Reds’ remaining matches arguably carry little importance given Slot’s men have already wrapped up the Premier League title, but the Merseyside giants will be determined to head into next season with momentum firmly on their side.
Therefore, Liverpool will hope to beat Brighton on 19 May before they host Crystal Palace on the final day of the season on 25 May.
The Anfield giants have enjoyed a historic season, claiming silverware in Slot’s first season at the managerial helm, so it would be a shame if they allowed an otherwise successful campaign to peter out.
