‘Real Madrid to force Alexander-Arnold into change already’ amid Liverpool update

Trent Alexander-Arnold could be set for a big change at Real Madrid after his departure from Liverpool was confirmed.

The England international has revealed to the Reds supporters his decision to move on from Anfield once the season comes to an end.

This sees the curtain fall on a 20-year association with the Merseyside outfit for the right-back as a new spell with the Spanish giants looks highly likely.

As positive as this might be for the 26-year-old, there is every chance that a huge alteration is demanded of Alexander-Arnold at the Bernabéu.

Alexander-Arnold to become Real Madrid puppet

There is no doubt that any player would love to become a Galactico and play for arguably the biggest club in the world.

Los Blancos have won the most Champions League’s of any club and have an amazing squad, despite being knocked out by Arsenal in the competition this campaign.

Adding someone with the quality of the Englishman will be huge for Carlo Ancelotti and his side, especially on a free transfer.

This could come at a price for Alexander-Arnold from a personal perspective due to the restrictions the LaLiga side place on their players.

The policy at Real Madrid is that every player splits their image rights 50:50 between themselves and the club when they sign their contract.

As a result, the Liverpool star is likely to lose out through his current sponsorships, but could also be required to make a change to benefit marketing for his new side.

This could see the defender change the name on his shirt from “Alexander-Arnold” to just “Trent” in order to make him more easily marketable for supporters.

Given that Los Merengues will be responsible for half of the 26-year-old’s image rights, he may have little choice but to change ahead of the new season.

This may come as a shock to the Reds ace who has worn the same name and number combination since making his debut at Anfield in the 2016/17 season.

Alexander-Arnold could live to regret Liverpool exit

The reaction of Liverpool supporters to the academy ace’s exit just goes to show how well loved he is in his native L4.

Even if he reaches the heights of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe in the Spanish capital, he will likely never reach such high acclaim.

This has seen Alexander-Arnold have whatever he wanted on Merseyside, playing almost every week under both Arne Slot and Jurgen Klopp.

Despite wanting to be “out of his comfort zone”, moving to a club where he could be forced into changing his entire identity could prove to be a mistake.
