Liverpool fans rage as Tarkowski gives Alexander-Arnold verdict – ‘Shut up’

Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old is set to depart the Anfield club, where he has been since the age of six, when his contract expires.

Arne Slot’s side attempted to make him the highest-paid right-back in the Premier League but he wants a new challenge.

It has not been confirmed that he is off to Real Madrid, but it is widely expected that the Bernabeu is where he will end up next season.

Tarkowski reacts to Alexander-Arnold exit

The likes of Jordan Henderson, Darwin Nunez and Kylian Mbappe have all reacted to Alexander-Arnold’s announcement.

However, one reaction in particular has hit a nerve with Reds supporters.

The opinion of Everton captain James Tarkowski, who believes that the England star is about to fulfil a lifelong dream.

Speaking on Sky Sports (5 May, 19:25 pm), he said: “Every young boys dream is to play for Real Madrid.”

Liverpool fans fuming with Tarkowski comments

It is safe to say that the Anfield faithful have not reacted well to the Blues skipper’s opinion on the matter.

Many questioned why he offered his view, and others took to making personal insults about his appearance, which is always unnecessary.

The fanbase has been left reeling from Alexander-Arnold’s decision, and many cannot understand why he would leave a Reds side that is fighting for the biggest honours.

For a Scouser, playing for the Merseysiders is supposed to be considered the pinnacle of the game, especially winning everything with them, and Jamie Carragher could not fathom why he would leave.

However, the Three Lions ace has chosen to turn his back on his own, the fans who have defended him through thick and thin, who adoringly sing his name each week and who purposely ran down his contract.

He has been mooted to return to Liverpool eventually, but that seems like a distant prospect, given the anger that supporters have been left with, likely to linger for a long time.

Trent has abandoned his own, for the allure of the Spanish capital, wider fame and fortune will await, but he will never be revered like the likes of Steven Gerrard and Robbie Fowler.
