Liverpool make announcement as midfielder retires from football – ‘The right time’
Liverpool have enjoyed a historic campaign by winning the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s first season in charge at Anfield.
The Merseyside giants were also delighted that star men Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk both agreed new deals to extend their stays in the North West.
But Liverpool could be set to lose the services of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has not penned a new deal at Anfield, and could be joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.
After clinching the Premier League title via their heavy win over Tottenham on 27 April, the Reds will look to retain their positive momentum when they face Chelsea on Sunday.

Liverpool make announcement as Joe Allen retires
The Anfield faithful will be keen to see their side enjoy a strong end to the Premier League season and eclipse the 90-point mark.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have released an official statement after former Reds midfielder Joe Allen announced that he is retiring from football after Swansea’s Championship final day clash with Oxford United.

The Wales international said: “I am 35 now and with what I have put my body through with the injuries and the level I can reach at the moment, it feels like the right time to call time on my career.
“My career has surpassed everything I ever thought it could be. I am proud to have had the career and the experiences I have had, whether that has been at the clubs I played for or representing Wales.
“I have been part of some incredible groups with wonderful supporters. I have been very lucky.”
Liverpool relayed the quotes on their official website on Friday (2 April) and wished Allen all the best for his future.

Liverpool must be wary of Chelsea’s threat on Sunday
The Reds have proven themselves as the best team in the Premier League this season, and are set to be given a guard of honour by Chelsea on Sunday.
But Liverpool should be wary of the threat that the Blues can pose to them at Stamford Bridge, while Enzo Maresca’s men are still battling to qualify for the Champions League.
After winning the Premier League title, the Anfield giants have nothing but pride left to play for and must be careful not to take their foot off the gas.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are in a rich vein of form, having won each of their last three games across all competitions, and will be eager to strengthen their grip on a top-five spot.
Furthermore, with the Premier League title already wrapped up, Slot may now take the opportunity to take a look at players in his squad who he has not handed much game time to this term.
