Klopp backed for emotional Anfield return in weeks after Liverpool title win
Liverpool will lift the Premier League trophy after hosting Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season on 25 May.
The Anfield giants wrapped their title up thanks to an emphatic 5-1 win over Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham on Sunday.
Spurs went 1-0 up thanks to Dominic Solanke’s goal on 12 minutes, but the Reds did not let that moment spoil their party as they went on to seal a historic victory.
Liverpool only required a draw against the North Londoners to clinch their second Premier League trophy in five years, but went on to thrash Postecoglou’s men.

Ally McCoist backs Klopp to return to Liverpool to celebrate title win
Arne Slot’s predecessor, Jurgen Klopp, is a Reds legend who guided the Merseyside giants to one Premier League title, the Champions League trophy, two League Cups and an FA Cup.
When asked if he could see Klopp returning to Anfield to join in with Liverpool’s title celebrations, Ally McCoist told talkSPORT (28 April, 6:27am): “I think Arne Slot would like to see him there as would all the Liverpool fans. So 100%.”
Klopp will be welcomed back at Anfield next month
Slot has done an incredible job by steering the Reds to the Premier League title in his first season in the Anfield dugout, despite the enormous pressure that came with replacing the iconic Klopp.
Premier League table (Top two) | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
1 Liverpool | 34 | 48 | 82 |
2 Arsenal | 34 | 34 | 67 |
But McCoist is right to point out that both the Dutchman and the Liverpool faithful would welcome Klopp back to Anfield and their city to celebrate the Merseyside club’s latest title triumph.
While Slot has been a major success this term, his Premier League success would not have been possible without the brilliant efforts of his predecessor, who put the building blocks in place for this season’s triumph.
The only addition Slot has made to the Liverpool squad so far is Federico Chiesa, who has made just four top-flight outings so far this campaign.
Furthermore, Klopp brought an end to the Reds’ previous 30-year wait for a top-flight trophy when he delivered the Anfield giants the Premier League trophy in 2020.
