Trent Alexander-Arnold is ‘going to stay’ at Liverpool in shock twist
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s winning goal for Liverpool in their 1-0 triumph over Leicester on Sunday prompted further speculation regarding his future.
The right-back looks set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, while he is yet to renew his terms at Anfield.
But Alexander-Arnold is yet to officially agree a contract with Madrid, fuelling belief that he could be staying with Liverpool.
After scoring against Leicester, the England international was clearly emotional as he took off his shirt, and celebrated with the travelling Reds supporters.

Ian Wright swears as he tips Alexander-Arnold to stay with Liverpool
After scoring at the King Power Stadium, Alexander-Arnold has now scored three goals and made six assists in 29 Premier League appearances this term.

But unlike teammates Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, the homegrown ace is yet to pen a new deal at Anfield amid the news of his potential move to Madrid.
Speaking on Stick To Football, Ian Wright said: “It (Alexander-Arnold’s goal celebration) gave me the look of a guy that was just [expletive] relieved if I’m totally honest.
“If I think of him staying or leaving, it’s still majorly anxious for him.
“We still don’t know if he’s actually leaving.
“I think he’s going to stay. It felt more like relief. It felt like a ‘[expletive] off’, all of those things.”
This summer could be the perfect time for Alexander-Arnold to leave Liverpool
There is no doubt that Liverpool would love to see Alexander-Arnold follow in the footsteps of Van Dijk and Salah by renewing his contract at Anfield instead of leaving Merseyside on a free transfer.
The Premier League, not just the Reds, would miss the full-back’s incredible ability if he chooses to leave England in favour of joining Madrid.
But the 26-year-old Liverpudlian has provided his hometown club with incredible memories by already winning one Premier League title, an FA Cup, a Champions League, and two Carabao Cups.
Alexander-Arnold is closing in on his second Premier League title with the Reds, which in many ways would signal the perfect time to exit Anfield as a legend.
His seemingly likely exit will hurt the Liverpool faithful, but with Conor Bradley at his disposal, Arne Slot could have a ready-made replacement for the talented right-back.
Alexander-Arnold deserves to leave Liverpool on a high, while his celebration after scoring at Leicester showed how much the Anfield club still means to him.
