Agbonlahor talks down Liverpool as he slams Arsenal on talkSPORT
Liverpool will win the Premier League title on Sunday if they avoid defeat against Tottenham at Anfield.
The Reds have enjoyed back-to-back wins over West Ham and Leicester, and consequently hold a 12-point lead over Arsenal with just five Premier League games left to play.
Mikel Arteta’s men, meanwhile, have only four games remaining after being held to a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Arne Slot’s men will be determined to win the Premier League title in front of the Anfield faithful on Sunday, after celebrating their last top-flight triumph behind closed doors thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Agbonlahor talks down Liverpool’s Premier League achievement as he hammers Arsenal
Slot has done an incredible job guiding Liverpool to the Premier League title in his first season in the dugout with the Merseyside giants.
But the Reds’ title triumph has coincided with Manchester City’s significant drop-off, while Arsenal have not mustered a strong challenge.
Premier League table (Top two) | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
1 Liverpool | 33 | 44 | 79 |
2 Arsenal | 34 | 34 | 67 |
Speaking on talkSPORT [24 April, 7.52am], Alan Brazil asked Gabby Agbonlahor: “Will this Liverpool side be remembered as great champions, or just a good side?”
The former Aston Villa striker replied: “I don’t think great champions, I think definitely they’ve deserved to win it over the course of the season. But I think you look at the great champions, you look at Liverpool sides under (Jurgen) Klopp. You look at the Man United teams and Chelsea teams, probably better than this Liverpool side. But you can’t take anything away from them, it’s not their fault that Man City have fallen off, not their fault Arsenal haven’t put up a good enough challenge. You’ve got to give Liverpool a lot of credit, but I wouldn’t put them at the Klopp level.”
Liverpool will be determined to beat Tottenham
Mathematically, the Reds only require a draw with Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday in order to clinch the Premier League trophy.
However, Slot’s men will be determined to put on a show for their supporters in Merseyside and lift the title thanks to their 25th win of the campaign.
Liverpool should have more than enough quality at their disposal to beat a Spurs side who sit just 16th in the Premier League, and could still be overtaken by 17th-place West Ham.
Furthermore, after their trip to Anfield on Sunday, Tottenham face the first leg of their Europa League semi-final with Bodo Glimt, which presents their only remaining route to the Champions League.
If Slot’s men can put on one of their better performances against Spurs, they should be able to enjoy a heavy victory over the North Londoners.
The Reds should also be keen to secure the Premier League title at the earliest opportunity before preparing themselves to potentially challenge for more silverware next season.
