Micah Richards reveals ‘scary’ Liverpool transfer message already
Liverpool are setting their sights beyond winning the Premier League this season, and Micah Richards expects big things.
The Reds are in cruise control at the top of the Premier League, and are just one victory away from claiming their 20th top-flight title.
Arne Slot’s men have dominated the division this season, and with only two defeats throughout their campaign, it has proven to be an entertaining and impressive run.
Liverpool have barely put a foot wrong, but with things almost wrapped up at this point, the focus is already on the next season and how the team will develop throughout the summer transfer window.

Micah Richards has big expectations
Liverpool have impressed throughout this campaign, but they are keen not to rest on the situation, especially after failing to pick up any silverware beyond the Premier League title.
There’s plenty of work still to be done for Slot to get his team to the next level, and it is believed that he will be given financial backing throughout the summer transfer window to make that happen.
Premier League table | Games Played | Won | Lost | Points |
1. Liverpool | 33 | 24 | 2 | 79 |
The possibility of Liverpool becoming an even stronger squad is something that will make catching them even tougher next season, but that’s exactly what Richards is expecting to see.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, he said: “You know what’s scary? I still believe they have got another gear to go. They are going to get some transfers.
“They miss a lot of chances, they could have someone as clinical as maybe, not Salah, but maybe someone a level below. I think they are going to be a real threat next season again.”
Liverpool are already strengthening the team
Liverpool aren’t able to make any signings yet, but they will be putting plans in place already after recent developments around Anfield.
The Merseyside giants have tied down Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah to new long-term contracts, securing both of their futures.
With Salah and Van Dijk having signed on the dotted line, focus can shift to transfers.
Both men were set to depart Anfield this summer when their contracts were due to expire, therefore getting the deals done was imperative for the Reds as replacing them would have proven difficult within one window.
However, Liverpool do seem set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold, with the England international believed to be heading to Real Madrid after this season is done, which will provide an obvious position where they need to strengthen.
All eyes will be on FSG this summer.
