Premier League: Supercomputer makes new Liverpool and Arsenal title prediction

Liverpool and Arsenal stuttered this past weekend as the pressure of the Premier League title race got to both teams.

It was technically an advantage for Arsenal this past weekend, since they were able to pick up a point during their draw against Everton, meanwhile Liverpool lost against Fulham.

However, it was still a missed opportunity for the Gunners to close the gap more on Arne Slot’s men after they were beaten 3-2 by Marco Silva’s side.

Fulham threw a curveball in against the Reds, which managed to give Arsenal fans a glimmer of hope that they would be able to put even more pressure on with seven games to go.

However, the Merseyside giants remain in cruise control moving forward, especially since Arsenal still have the distraction of European football.

Liverpool’s Premier League hopes have been predicted

Arsenal might have closed the gap to 11 points in the Premier League, but the dropping two points at Craven Cottage has further hampered their title prospects.

Silva’s side defeated Arsenal in midweek while Liverpool picked up three points in the Merseyside derby, and those results, combined with the past weekend, have left the Reds in a strong position.

That is being reflected by the new Opta supercomputer odds, as Liverpool now have a 99.43 per cent chance of winning the Premier League title.

That is an increase on their chances before the weekend, showing just how damaging Arsenal’s draw with Fulham was.

Arsenal have been left with just a 0.57 per cent chance of pulling off an incredible shock, which would be something totally unexpected at this stage in time.

Liverpool have been predicted to finish with 88 points in comparison to Arsenal’s 76, which would allow them to win the title in a dominant fashion.

Liverpool will look for consistency

Liverpool have dominated the Premier League this season, suffering only two defeats throughout their campaign – against Fulham and Nottingham Forest.

However, they will be keen for the recent blip against Fulham not to impact them in the long term as they don’t want the season to be derailed.

Gary Neville surprisingly backed Liverpool after their defeat, and admitted that it is something normal given their position in the table, but fans will be eager to see more positive results immediately.
