Liverpool fans baffled with Alisson announcement v Fulham – ‘Strange’

Arne Slot has made one change to his Liverpool starting line-up to face Fulham on Sunday.

He has stuck with the majority of the team that secured a 1-0 victory over Everton (2 April) for the trip to West London.

The Reds can open up a 14-point gap at the top of the Premier League with a win after Arsenal could only draw with David Moyes’ side (5 April).

They will win the league title with 11 points from their last eight matches as the maximum points total that the Gunners can reach is 83 points.

Liverpool make one change for Fulham clash

Caoimhin Kelleher and Curtis Jones keep their place in the starting line-up as Conor Bradley returns to the bench but Alisson is not ready to return following the concussion he suffered with Brazil.

Diogo Jota continues to lead the line after his strike against the Blues, Mohamed Salah also retains his place but Cody Gakpo also gets the nod over Luis Diaz as the Anfield outfit try to take a step closer to a 20th title.

Alisson decision stuns Liverpool fans

The Reds’ sole focus is on bringing home a second title in five years after elimination from the Champions League and losing the Carabao Cup final and they are so close to completing the job.

Despite their very strong position at the summit, supporters have been left concerned by Alisson’s absence as Slot’s side pushes to wrap up the league as quickly as they can.

Fulham will represent a tough test as they are competing for European qualification and were close to holding the Gunners to a draw as they fell to a 2-1 defeat on 1 April.

They also held the Reds the last time the two sides faced off back at Anfield in December but the clash on Sunday has a lot more significance, given the implication for the L4 outfit.

Victory over the Cottagers would be a huge step towards securing the title and easing fans’ nerves in the run-in, widening the Reds’ already comfortable margin at the top and taking Slot closer to a sensational achievement in his first season on Merseyside.
