Liverpool ‘blown out of the water’ after Mohamed Salah contract bombshell – Exclusive
Mohamed Salah looks increasingly likely to leave Liverpool in the summer.
The Egyptian is just three goals or assists away from breaking the all-time record for contributions in a single Premier League season that is currently held by Alan Shearer.
However, despite his remarkable campaign, the Reds are yet to agree fresh terms with the 32-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
Their task may have been made harder after new developments from the Middle East.

Salah could leave Liverpool after Saudi twist emerges
Liverpool seem desperate to keep Salah despite no progress in negotiations with their star man.
However, the decision may be taken out of their hands if clubs from Saudi Arabia return to the table with Simon Jordan speculating that they may offer Salah a million-pound-a-week deal.
Finance expert Dan Plumley exclusively told Liverpool News that the Reds could not match that offer if it was to happen.
He said: “For the Premier League, no, I think it blows everything out of the water, I just don’t think it is viable given other wage costs for the club as a whole.
“I don’t see a club like Liverpool stretching anywhere near to that figure, so if that is on the table in Saudi then ultimately, I think Salah would be the one that would be making that decision more than anything.
“Liverpool are not going to stretch to that kind of figure.”

Liverpool have to keep Salah
It is unfathomable that the Reds could lose Salah while he is still at the peak of his powers.
The veteran has scored or assisted 44 times in the top-flight this season and is a major reason in the Anfield outfit’s push for the league title.
Stats | Salah | Diaz | Jota | Nunez |
Goals | 27 | 9 | 5 | 5 |
Assists | 17 | 4 | 3 | 2 |
Arne Slot‘s side have been overeliant on Salah this season, with the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez coming nowhere near his output.
Fenway Sports Group simply have no other option but to extend his contract even if it breaks their wage structure, there will be major protests if they fail to do so, especially since the player has admitted that he wishes to remain on Merseyside.
