Liverpool ‘find dream Wataru Endo upgrade’ as £40m Wolves transfer update drops
Liverpool now look set to replace Wataru Endo during the summer transfer window, with a number of potential replacements emerging.
The 32-year-old has failed to establish himself under Arne Slot throughout this season, mainly being used as a squad player from the bench to try and see games out for the Reds.
Endo had made 43 appearances for the Reds last season, but his lack of game time within this campaign and his current age has left him as someone Slot will look to cash in on.

Liverpool are eyeing a Wolves star
A trio of Premier League teams are said to be interested in signing Endo, with his experience making him a strong option for others, but Slot doesn’t see him as a long-term option.
According to CaughtOffside (2 April), Liverpool have identified Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes as a potential target for the summer transfer window.
Slot is looking to put his own fingerprints on his Liverpool squad before next season commences, with the current squad being one primarily built up by Jurgen Klopp.
Gomes is someone who has been on the radar of Liverpool for some time, but they’re not the only top Premier League side monitoring his progress at Wolves.

Arsenal and Man United are watching his performances, and the Brazil international doesn’t have a release clause at Molineux.
Wolves are expected to be willing to cash in on him if the money is right this summer, and Liverpool are expected to make an offer in the region of £40million in a bid to replace Endo, who is expected to depart Anfield this summer.

Adam Wharton is another option for Liverpool
Gomes isn’t the only option that Liverpool are contemplating signing this summer as Adam Wharton is another player who the Reds would like to sign.
Liverpool will face high-profile competition in trying to tie down the England international as Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all monitoring him.
Wharton is aiming to develop and take his career to the next level in a bid to get into Thomas Tuchel’s England setup moving forward, and playing regularly for a team such as Liverpool would help him make that happen.
