Liverpool v Everton result predicted by supercomputer

Liverpool are looking to get back on track with a return to Premier League action on Wednesday as they welcome Everton to Anfield.

Ahead of the international break, the Reds were dumped out of the Champions League and lost the Carabao Cup final, which leaves Arne Slot’s men with only the Premier League left to play for.

The Toffees come into the game in excellent form under David Moyes and are unbeaten in nine league games, meaning this will not be an easy task for the leaders.

Liverpool expected to beat Everton

Although there are tougher opponents to face, coming into a derby game on the back of a difficult few weeks at Anfield may not be the return that Liverpool wanted to domestic action.

However, supporters can breathe a sigh of relief as the Opta Analyst Supercomputer is predicting the Reds will get back to winning ways against Everton.

The supercomputer believes there is a 66.3 per cent chance that Slot’s men will come away from the game victorious.

Everton, on the other hand, only have a 14.9 per cent chance of winning, meaning a draw between the two sides is more likely, with an 18.9 per cent chance.

One thing is for sure, this is set to be another fiery game between the two sides, especially after the 2-2 draw at Goodison Park last time out.

Slot needs Liverpool to get back on track

Given how well Liverpool have done under Slot’s management so far, their recent woes are certainly the lowest point of their season so far.

However, there is no need to get carried away with the Reds still sitting 12 points clear at the top of the table ahead of Arsenal.

With that in mind, it would take a monumental disaster for the Merseyside outfit not to finish the season on top, and it’s unlikely that will happen.

That being said, momentum and morale count for a lot and if Liverpool can get a win against their rivals, it could well prove to be a boost that is needed going into the final weeks of the season.

It’s no surprise that Liverpool are predicted to come out on top, given they have lost just one Premier League game throughout the season so far, but the percentage may be playing down just how well their opponents have done of late.

Liverpool certainly have the talent available to succeed, but they cannot underestimate their opponents, who proved at Goodison Park last time out that they will not stop until the final whistle has been blown.
