Darwin Nunez ‘finished at Liverpool’ after £25m development from Italy
Darwin Nunez could be set to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The Uruguayan forward has notched five goals and two assists in 23 matches in the Premier League this season.
However, he has struggled to make an impression on Arne Slot, with the Dutchman calling out the 25-year-old for his attitude on several occasions.
A new development from Italy may give both parties a chance to move on after an underwhelming two and a half years on Merseyside.

Liverpool eyeing move for £25m Italian striker
Liverpool boss Slot is unconvinced by his attacking options and looks set to offload Nunez at the end of the season.
A report from Italian outlet Messaggero Veneto (27 March) claims that the Reds are one of several Premier League clubs eyeing a move for Udinese forward Lorenzo Lucca.
It states that the Anfield club faces competition from Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid to complete a £25million deal.

Lucca move would spell the end for Nunez
If the Reds secure a deal for the three-cap Italy international, it would likely mean that Nunez will move on after a disappointing season at Anfield.
The 25-year-old has failed to kick on and become a regular goalscorer on Merseyside and has scored just 40 goals in 136 appearances since his club-record move from Benfica.
Stats (league) | Nunez | Lucca |
Matches | 23 | 28 |
Goals | 5 | 10 |
Assists | 2 | 1 |
In comparison, Lucca has notched 21 strikes in 70 matches for Udinese since he moved from Ajax at the start of the 2023/24 season, including 10 goals in Serie A in the current campaign.
The L4 outfit needs to do a significant amount of business in the summer, with Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving and uncertainty over the future of several other stars, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
The relatively cheap fee for the Italian makes it a tempting deal, especially if they can offset it by selling Nunez for a higher fee.
It has not worked out for the ex-Penarol star on Merseyside and it does not seem like he will ever find the kind of composure that the Anfield outfit need him to, therefore, an exit makes sense with a potential replacement already on the cards.
