Jude Bellingham responds to Curtis Jones as Liverpool star speaks out

Liverpool star Curtis Jones made his third senior England appearance on Friday and helped the Three Lions on their way to a 2-0 victory over Albania.

Goals from debutant Miles Lewis-Skelly and captain Harry Kane ensured that England won their first game under new boss Thomas Tuchel.

Liverpool star Jones impressed in the engine room alongside Declan Rice and would be unlucky not to be handed another start when Tuchel’s men face Latvia on Monday.

The 24-year-old was first brought into the England senior fold by then-interim boss Lee Carsley back in November and has subsequently justified remaining in the Three Lions squad.

After the Three Lions’ victory, Jones wrote on Instagram: “A good start to the new era.”

Fellow England star and Real Madrid sensation Jude Bellingham was among those to reply to Jones’ post, and commented “CJ” accompanied by a flame emoji.

Reds teammates Harvey Elliott and Cody Gakpo also showed their appreciation for Jones’ efforts, and both commented with flame emojis while the latter also left a heart.

Liverpool must bounce back after the international break

In their two games leading up to the international break, Arne Slot’s men were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain before losing in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle.

Liverpool should have already done enough to lift the Premier League title, though, sitting 12 points clear of Arsenal with only nine games remaining.

The Reds will still be keen to give a largely successful campaign the strong ending it deserves and will look to finish the top-flight season on good form.

Local pride is on the line for Slot’s men next time out when they host Everton on 2 April for the second Merseyside Derby of the season, before travelling to Fulham four days later.

After seeing their side crash out of the Champions League before seeing silverware slip through their fingers via a Wembley defeat against Newcastle, the Anfield faithful will be hungry for a triumph over Everton.

Jones will also be rubbing his hands together, after his clash with Abdoulaye Doucoure at Goodison.
