Alan Pardew loses mind over Arne Slot situation at Liverpool – ‘Wow’

Arne Slot has adapted to life at Liverpool seamlessly, carrying on from the success of Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool look well on track to win the Premier League title as they sit 12 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table.

However, with his side having been knocked out of the Champions League and losing the Carabao Cup, there has been debate on how much of the Reds’ success is down to their own qualities.

Alan Pardew gets stuck into Slot debate

While there is no one denying that Slot has done an excellent job with Liverpool, there have been some suggestions throughout the campaign that had Arsenal been a stronger outfit this term then the Reds wouldn’t have been so dominant.

The North London outfit have been struck by countless injuries at the top end of the field this season which has left them without a recognised striker at a crucial point in the season.

Furthermore, with Slot having inherited a strong squad, some feel as though it would have been hard for him to do anything less than succeed.

When discussing the matter live on talkSPORT (21 March, 11:30am), Alan Pardew had his say on what’s been happening at Anfield as he said: “I’ll say this as well, Arne Slot at Liverpool. No one, no one that I can think of has inherited such a good team as he did. Now I’m not saying he did a bad job and obviously they lost in the final, I’m not getting on that bandwagon.

“But the team he inherited, the squad he inherited was outstanding. And he’s done a brilliant job in managing it because you’ve still got to manage it and he’s done a brilliant job. But wow, the tools he has available, they can take their three strikers off and put another three on and you don’t see the difference.”

Slot and Liverpool given motivation for next season

Of course, Arsenal having struggles this season has helped Liverpool and given them some breathing space.

However, you can only beat what’s in front of you every week and given the Reds have only lost one league game throughout the season so far, you have to give them some credit for their success.

Liverpool and Arsenal’s Premier League form this season.

It was a difficult week for the Reds going into the international break and they will have to ensure they don’t allow this to affect them in the remainder of the Premier League season.

The constant questioning of Liverpool’s true talent will surely give the boss and his team some motivation for next season now as they will be keen to go out and show that their success is no fluke.

With the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah yet to be confirmed, it could well be a trickier task for the Dutchman next term.

However, as a top manager, Slot will feel like he’s just getting started on Merseyside and won’t let the comments floating around affect his chances at success.
