Mohamed Salah exit latest: Official update from Saudi Arabia emerges

Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

The 32-year-old will become a free agent in the summer and so far has not signed a new deal with the Reds, hinting that this could be his last season at the club.

Salah generated a lot of interest from the Saudi Pro League last summer and Saudi clubs could circle again once he becomes a free agent.

As Salah’s links to the Middle East continue, Saudi Pro League marketing chief Mohammed Basrawi has finally addressed the potential transfer.

Salah to leave Liverpool?

Liverpool’s dominance in the Premier League is unmatched this season. The Reds are cruising towards a Premier League title with a 12-point gap over second-placed Arsenal.

Arne Slot‘s men have lost just once in the league so far. One of the biggest factors in Liverpool’s enthralling run is Salah’s magical form.

The Egyptian has 27 goals and 17 assists in 29 league appearances. He is on a record-breaking season and is expected to improve his numbers further until the end of the season.

Salah has been at Liverpool since 2017 and has undoubtedly been their man main ever since. His departure will leave big shoes to fill.

Whether Salah leaves for Saudi Arabia or joins any other European club remains to be seen.

Basrawi, speaking to Marca, answered the burning question regarding Salah’s potential move to Saudi Arabia.

He said: “So I wish he’d come here, and we’ve opened the door for him to do that, but we aren’t negotiating it now.”

Alexander Isak to replace Salah?

Alexander Isak has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield. The Newcastle United has been one of the most consistent players in the league and has earned the right to be in the elite group of Premier League’s best players.

The Sweden international could be the perfect man to replace Salah, once the 32-year-old leaves this summer. Make no mistake, Isak is not a direct replacement for Salah. Liverpool will need to go into the market and sign a forward who can play on the right side of the attack.

Isak is Salah’s replacement in goalscoring capacity. Salah’s numbers cannot be replicated easily but Isak does come close. The 25-year-old has scored 19 goals in the league and has been one of the top performers for Eddie Howe’s side.
