Liverpool predicted XI next season – Alexander-Arnold gone, two new attackers

Arne Slot could find himself with a completely different squad at Liverpool next season.

The Dutchman is planning to overhaul his attacking options, as the likes of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz have underwhelmed despite the Reds sitting pretty at the summit of the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah is out of contract and could depart Anfield with no agreement reached on his future at the moment.

Meanwhile, in defence, questions remain over the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, and Virgil van Dijk.

Slot to make four changes to Liverpool starting XI

Between the sticks, Alisson is expected to keep his place despite the impending arrival of Georgian star Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.

Right-back could be the first area of change, with Alexander-Arnold seeming more likely to join Real Madrid than stay at Anfield.

The Reds have a readymade replacement in Conor Bradley, so they may not have to dip into the transfer market to replace the Three Lions star.

At the heart of defence, Ibrahima Konate is contracted until the summer of 2026, so is expected to remain on Merseyside and start alongside Van Dijk.

The captain is out of contract and there has been no new deal reached between the two parties, but the Reds cannot allow the Dutchman to leave, so a deal should be worked out, even if Fenway Sports Group have to break their strict wage structure.

At left-back, Robertson could move on as he has struggled to maintain his previously excellent levels since Slot arrived, with Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez understood to be on the Anfield outfit’s shortlist to replace the Scottish international.

The engine room is predicted to remain the same, with the trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai retaining their places in Slot’s preferred midfield.

The L4 outfit may have to bring in backup, as the trio have looked exhausted in recent weeks, with the head coach not able to trust the likes of Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott regularly.

Salah stays as two attackers arrive at Anfield

Salah has notched 44 Premier League goals and assists in just 29 matches and has made it clear that he wishes to remain at Anfield.

Surely, the ownership reaches a deal with their star man rather than letting him leave for free, it is unfathomable that they fail to do so.

Newcastle forward Alexander Isak was the difference maker as the Reds lost the Carabao Cup final (16 March) and has been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside.

The striker would be a much better option than Nunez or Jota in the number nine role, with his 19 strikes in the league eclipsing the likes of Jota and Nunez combined.

On the left flank, Diaz has not impressed, but Cody Gakpo has been their second-best attacker behind Salah, but he may be replaced by Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.

The Englishman has notched 11 goals and four assists in 40 games in a fantastic breakout season, and the Anfield outfit are understood to hold an interest in his services.

It promises to be an exciting summer for Reds fans, regardless of what happens with the contract situation, with changes coming.
