Liverpool points deduction question emerges after FA announcement on Arne Slot
Arne Slot has been handed a touchline ban but his actions against Everton could result in further punishment for Liverpool.
There was plenty of controversy in the final ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park as James Tarkowski slammed home a late equaliser.
The aftermath of this strike saw Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure enter an altercation which saw both players handed red cards for their actions.
It is fair to say the biggest moment of contention came as the Reds’ manager was sent off for his actions towards referee Michael Oliver.

Slot could face further punishment after Liverpool red card
The Dutchman has since been handed a two-match touchline ban, serving the first of those two in the 2-0 home win over Newcastle last Wednesday (26 February).
The ex-Feyenoord boss was also ordered to pay a £70,000 fine with his abuse towards the match officials being made an example of, as the FA announced its findings.
This could be seen as harsh for the 46-year-old but former Leicester City and Brentford manager Martin Allen has speculated whether further punishment could be in the pipeline.
Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, Allen said: “The Premier League have worked hard to improve relationships so that managers have an acceptance that referees occasionally make mistakes.
“That was a big game for Liverpool away at Everton, it might have been a foul on Konate before the goal but Slot lost his temper.
“He has apologised for that, he won’t want it to happen again. I don’t think a points deduction would be right, it would affect the whole team, but as the club’s leader, it may mean ongoing seating in the stands and heavier fines.“

Slot unphased by Liverpool punishment
It doesn’t appear that any additional punishment is coming for the Reds as long as the head coach can keep his emotions in check.
Slot certainly exploded against Everton but in the high intensity of Goodison Park, there is good reason to understand why this was the case.
The Dutchman hasn’t let this affect him and his side with Liverpool going on to win four of their next five games after this moment.
Other than a frustrating draw against Aston Villa where Darwin Nunez took the headlines, things have been largely positive.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the 46-year-old head coach will cope across the rest of the campaign, especially with a reverse leg against PSG coming up.
